NASWA Awards, November 2005

###British Commonwealth DXerThere has been some confusion over what is required for this award. The NASWA Awards Program states that the Senior British Commonwealth DX’er Award is for verification of at least one shortwave broadcast station in each of 30 broadcast countries that are or have belonged to the British Commonwealth. The Master British Commonwealth DX’er is awarded for 40 broadcast countries.

Myanmar (then Burma) chose not to join (not allowed) and Ireland withdrew in 1949 (allowed). Commonwealth membership is confined to sovereign countries. Therefore British Dependent Territories: Anguilla, Falkland Islands, Hong Kong, British Indian Ocean Territory and St. Helena which may have taken part in Commonwealth functions are not considered members and should not be counted. This approved list of countries immediately supersedes any previous lists.
